Interaction with my son This is more of a quick story with a dad joke at the end. My 17-yr old bought a can of shaving cream that I borrowed when I ran out of mine. I should have returned it but I was running late for work. I bought my replacement on my way back home. It was the same brand and style he uses - Barbosal for sensitive skin. We were both in the kitchen when I pulled it out of my grocery bag and that, of course, reminded me that I still had his can in my bathroom. Me: {pulling out can} "Oh I took yours. It's in my bathroom. Just grab it on the way to your room." Son: "You could just give me the new one." Me: "Hah nice try. Plus yours is missing the cap." Son: "No it's not." Me: "I don't remember taking it. I just have the can." Son: "Well you must have taken it because it's definitely not in my bathroom." Me: "Ok fine." {I pull of the cap from the new one}. "Take this one, but are you sure you don't have it?" Son: "I'm sure." Me: "Hmm...not convinced." {I give him an exaggerated inquisitive look} "No cap?" The look on his face was priceless. Dad joke accomplished. Used outdated Gen-Z term. All done on the fly
