Be careful telling dad jokes in foreign countries. I work abroad where some Russian people go to work. I was sitting for lunch with a bunch of Russians talking about video games, PUBG in particular. He mentioned that his team likes to be fast and always be on the offensive. As a dad joke connoisseur, I say 'that's because you are "Russian" to be first'. He jokingly starts talking about the war with Ukraine. I had to quickly explain what I meant before it escalated. We are good, and I am still in the country but at least I am not going to prison. Lesson learned, be careful with dad jokes in countries where English is not first language.
