I'm so happy - a spontaneous dad joke that I told to my 3yr old today made a total stranger, who was walking about 10ft in front of us, turn round and give a knowing smile! We were walking along the prom in Eastbourne (UK), and I pointed out the beautiful pier that had just hoved into view, and then I followed that up with: "You know why they call it a pier, don't you?" "No?" "Because you're walking along and it suddenly a-piers (appears)!" My daughter and fiancee weren't impressed, but I'm totally made up that the lady in front of us enjoyed it!!
